I didn’t know much about them until about a year ago, when I started getting methodical about learning the nuances of butterfly gardening. Now I can recognize most of the more common ones around here, but have to refer to a book to figure some out on occasion.

Thanks! That’s a Gulf Fritilary, by the way. They grow up to be gorgeous, mostly orange butterflies.

I don’t know much about butterflies, apart from cabbage white, which strangely don’t appear to have been around this year (so far).

It’s good that you’re getting a variety of butterflies. We seem to be getting more birds but butterfly populations must be very low!
